Mer-Krete™ 310
WATERPROOF MEMBRANE SYSTEM

DESCRIPTION:
310 Waterproof membrane is a latex modified system formulated and pre-packaged at the factory. It’s formulated with special latex compounds.

USE:
This membrane provides positive waterproofing for vertical wall surfaces (interior and exterior) under thin-set applications of ceramic, quarry and stone tiles. The membrane has an approximate thickness of 1/8", and therefore does not interfere with existing elevations.

ADVANTAGES:
• Quickly installed. Cures in 24 hours allowing next day overlay.
• Completely waterproof with zero porosity.
• Thin section – does not interfere with elevations.
• Will not burn – fire retardant – non-toxic – no VOC.
• Excellent adhesion.

LIMITATIONS:
• Will not bridge substrate expansion joints without developing hairline checks. Consult a Mer-Krete technical representative for required special treatment.
• Surfaces must be clean and free of all oils, curing compounds, etc.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
When covering uneven surfaces, the use of Underlayment is recommended as a smoothing coat prior to tile application.
Existing expansion joints should be maintained through the overlay and treated in a manner so as not to interfere with the existing joints.
On new construction, attention to the details and elevations and transitions is critical. Consult manufacturer for specific details.
The use of a latex modified mortar (ANSI A118.4) or acrylic admix such as Mer-Krete 150 Acrylic Latex is highly recommended for setting all ceramic and stone tiles to ensure compatibility.

INSTALLATION:
Work should be performed only by an applicator trained and familiar with these products, and in strict accordance with manufacturer application specifications, abbreviated below:
1. Prepare and clean surface to be waterproofed.
2. Blend membrane materials and prime all base flashings and perimeter areas.
3. Apply first coat by roller and back trowel to a smooth surface.
4. Apply second coat in similar manner and allow to cure 12 hours prior to setting tile.

AVAILABILITY:
Mer-Krete Systems are installed by trained contractors located throughout the U.S
.
