Mer-Krete Systems Contributions to Your LEED Project
Mer-Krete Systems can contribute to your LEED project in two primary categories and up to four different credits. The two primary categories are Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality.
Materials & Resources
Recycled Content (Credits MR 4.1 & 4.2), Currently, the only product that would help with this credit is Sound Shield sound reduction mat. It is manufactured in a 42” x 48” mat from 100% post industrial recycled rubber.
Regional Manufacturing Credits (MR 5.1 & MR 5.2), this is described as extracted, processed and manufactured within 500 miles of the jobsite. Mer-Krete Systems product line is manufactured in 7 different facilities. The product being manufactured in the different facilities will contin®ue to change with growth in the brand, so please check back for updated information. Indoor Environmental Quality
Low Emitting Materials, Adhesives and Sealants (Credit IEQ 4.1), all of Mer-Krete Systems mortars, grouts and underlayments meet the requirements of this credit for low VOC’s and the South Coast Air Quality Management District rule 1168. Low Emitting Materials, Paints and Coatings (Credit IEQ 4.2) All of our membranes meet the requirements of this credit for low VOC’s and the South Coast Air Quality Management District rule 1113. For Your Consideration Innovation and Design Credit
Mer-Krete Systems 7d10 Dust Less thin set should be submitted on a LEED project also as an Innovation in Design credit (ID 1.1,1.2,1.3,1.4). Since this product will improve the working conditions of all worker on the interior of the building, during construction. Innovation in Design credits provide the design and construction team the opportunity to be awarded points for exceptional performance above the LEED requirements. We suggest pursue this as an innovation strategy not addressed by an existing LEED credit.
