Mer-KreteTM ColorCaulk
SILICONIZED ACRYLIC BASED CAULKING COMPOUND

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Mer-Krete ColorCaulk is a siliconized acrylic based caulking compound that is mold and mildew resistant. Special chemicals are added while manufacturing to greatly improve the workability, curing, flexural strength and resistance to a broad spectrum of fungal, algae and bacterial degradation. ColorCaulk is available in a sanded and smooth formulation color coordinated to all of Mer-Krete ColorGrout colors.

BASIC USE
ColorCaulk is used to fill joints between panels, cracks, between walls and seals around tubs, showers, sinks, countertops, woodwork, baseboards, doors, and window frames. Can be used instead of grout to fill joints at the junction where tile changes elevation, where tile abuts different surfaces and where tile is set on different substrates.

LIMITATIONS
Do not use ColorCaulk below 40ºF (4ºC) or above 95ºF (35ºC). Use caution; do not allow caulking to freeze for the first 72 hours. Do not use if rain, or moisture is expected within 24 hours of application. Due to the differences in manufacturing and texture an exact color match to cement grout colors is as near as possible.

INSTALLATION

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces shall be dry, free of adhesives, paint, wax, dirt, grease, or any other foreign materials that may inhibit bond. This product may contain high levels of colorants and may stain some porous materials like wallpapers or walls. Use masking tape or shield these areas for protection. Test in an inconspicuous area to determine if staining will occur.

APPLICATION
Insert tube into standard caulking gun. Cut off tip of tube at a slant to desired size. Apply ColorCaulk into opening using a continuous bead. Smooth with a wet putty knife or caulking tool. When applied in areas exposed to moisture allow caulking to cure a minimum of 24 hours at 70° F, prior to putting the area into use. Complete cure is achieved in 48 to 72 hours depending on the ambient temperatures and humidity. Unused portion of ColorCaulk should be capped and stored in a cool, dry place and used within one year.

CLEANING
Water is all that is needed to remove any ColorCaulk while it is still wet.
