Underlay-SLU
SELF LEVELING UNDERLAYMENT

DESCRIPTION:
Underlay-SLU is a pumpable self leveling underlayment system consisting of a cementitious filler powder which incorporates polymers in the dry mix. This underlayment is factory packaged in 50 pound sacks. This powder is mixed with water on the job and installed by trained mechanics to provide a uniform monolithic subsurface that is to receive a finished flooring.

USE:
An easy to use underlayment system designed to overlay cracked, spalled or uneven floors and provide an acceptable surface for various floor coverings such as resilient tile, carpet, ceramic or quarry tile and vinyl sheeting.

ADVANTAGES:
• Easy to install
• Excellent bond to concrete, wood and metal with a minimum of preparation.
• Highly resilient – crack resistant
• Fire retardant
• Good thermal and acoustical insulating properties
• Self levels to a smooth and uniform finish
• Will help in the reduction of subgrade heads of water (hydrostatic pressure)
• May be used for exterior applications. Consult manufacturer prior to installation.

LIMITATIONS:
• Powder should not be exposed to moisture prior to application.
• Not to be used for sloping. Use Mer-Krete Underlay-L System.
• Not intended for use as a finished surface.
• Not to be installed in temperatures below 50°F.

CONSIDERATIONS INSTALLATION:
• When covering wood sheathing, wire or expanded reinforcing metal should be used.
• Concrete should be free of dirt and any contaminants.
• When used as thermal insulation in conjunction with Mer-Ko Weather Deck, consult a Mer-Ko representative for standard specifications.

INSTALLATION:
1. Prime all surfaces with Mer-Krete 150 or Underlay-L Emulsion.
2. Mixed one sack of Underlay-SLU with 5-6 quarts of water and pump or screed as necessary.
3. Allow to cure a minimum of 12-24 hours.
