Mer-Ko™ Auto Deck
WATERPROOF PARKING DECK SURFACINGAutodeck

DESCRIPTION:
Auto Deck is a trowel applied rubber mastic roofing system that provides membrane waterproofing together with a slip resistant urethane surface that provides protection against petroleum based chemicals. Waterproof flashing for drains and vertical surfaces is incorporated into the system. The thickness is approximately 1/8" and presents few elevation problems at doors, ramps, etc. in existing structures. Non-skid aggregates may be incorporated in the Sealer coats. Consult manufacturer for details.

USE:
Parking deck structures that require positive waterproofing.

ADVANTAGES:
• Contains no joints or seams.
• May be installed over any sound, solid, dry subsurface.
• Fire retardant.
• Will not soften under extreme solar temperatures.
• Completely waterproof as long as the membrane has not been penetrated or damaged.

LIMITATIONS:
• Will not bridge seismic or wide construction joints (Consult with a Mer-Ko technical representative for recommendations regarding these critical areas)
• Subsurface must be dry before and during application.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR INSTALLATION:
• Subsurface must be smooth. If not corrected, irregularities will reflect on the Auto Deck surface.
• In freezing climates, sufficient pitch is required to insure run-off.
• Drains must be of a design suitable to receive Auto Deck flashing (i.e. J.R. Smith DX 1250 series).
• Concrete subsurfaces must have a minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi tested by “point loading” technique.

INSTALLATION:
Work should be performed only by an applicator trained and approved by Mer-Ko Products, Inc. and must be installed in strict accordance with the Application Specifications, abbreviated below:
1. Waterproof rubber membrane reinforced with a spunbond resilient fabric
2. A trowel applied coat of a rubber mastic bodycoat
3. Two coats of high solids urethane sealer in standard Mer-Ko color

AVAILABILITY:
Mer-Ko Systems are installed by trained contractors located in several population centers in the U.S.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:
Specification assistance is highly recommended prior to a proposed installation. Contact any Mer- Ko technical representative for recommendations.
